INTRODUCTION
The University of Liverpool has just joined the ever growing number of FlextTime’s customers in the educational sector.
The VisionTime system became operational at the University’s Library Division, after a pilot scheme, to cover the 24/7 nature of their business, the library employs up to 150 Staff – including part timers.
Flexible Working has become popular in libraries in general – as it helps with a wider spread of working hours; certainly wider than would be applicable in, say, a general office.
Staff key in/out at VisionTimeWeb and look up their own records at PCs. All updates to time and absence records are now electronic. Thus, Staff input their own updates - while Supervisors sign off such requests electronically.
With VT Who’s In? - immediate and real time access to who is in or out is provided for switchboard staff and others. The overall automation saves considerable time for the central administrators. The system has been fully adopted by the Library.
In common with the relationship which we have built up with our hundreds of user organisations since 1983, we now look forward to bringing new ideas and functionality to The University of Liverpool as they emerge.
The University of Liverpool:
Founded in 1881 with the establishment of University College Liverpool, the College opened in 1882 with 45 students. The University has constantly attracted the pioneers of the day, particularly seen through it’s contribution to science. This has continued apace with present-day successes including the development of a new low-cost drug to treat malaria. As one of Merseyside's largest employers, the University is a major source for innovation and plays a key role in the economic development of the region in terms of employment, skills, research and technology.
